Keke's Cafe is an exciting new breakfast restaurant located in Sunnyvale, dedicated to offering a warm, welcoming atmosphere paired with delicious breakfast options. We are currently hiring for the Host position, a critical role in ensuring that guests have a memorable and positive first impression of Keke's Cafe. This full-time opportunity offers a competitive wage starting between $19.50 and $21.50 per hour, depending on experience, along with access to valuable benefits such as health insurance, a company-sponsored 401(k) plan, employee discounts, and a collaborative working environment.
The Host at Keke's Cafe is the face of the restaurant, responsible for welcoming guests warmly and managing the seating process efficiently. You'll be the first point of contact, making guests feel valued and comfortable as they arrive. In addition to greeting, you will manage the reservation and waitlist system, coordinating seating to balance service flow and guest preferences. You will also provide information about our catering services and handle to-go orders, ensuring a well-rounded support role in the front-of-house operations.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Capacity to stand for extended periods
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Valid California food handlers card
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment
Job Qualifications
- No prior restaurant experience is required
- Ability to work in a standing position for extended periods up to 6 hours
- Fun, upbeat personality, acting with kindness and professionalism
- Excellent communication skills in the predominant language(s) of our guests
- Current, valid California food handlers card
Job Duties
- Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival
- Greet guests entering the restaurant whenever possible
- Manage and utilize the reservation system accurately to organize seating arrangements and waitlists, notifying guests of wait-times, and when tables are ready
- Notify guests when tables become available, and thank them for waiting
- Escort guests to their tables with menus and silverware wraps
- Accommodate special seating requests whenever possible
- Seat guests in a way that balances customer flow in service sections
- Upon seating, inform guests of their server’s name
- Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return
- Wipe down and clean menus as they are returned to the host stand
- Handle to-go orders efficiently
- Answer inquiries about large parties and catering services
- Keep the host area, floors, and door glass clean and presentable
- Must be flexible and willing to assist in any front-of-house positions, including performing bathroom checks and cleaning, as needed
