The Host/Hostess at DeSimone Steakhouse plays a crucial role in the guest experience. This position requires a friendly, energetic individual who can manage seating arrangements efficiently, provide accurate wait time estimates, and maintain an inviting and organized front-of-house environment. The host or hostess acts as the first impression for guests, greeting them warmly and guiding them seamlessly to their tables. They must also handle reservations professionally, respond promptly to guest needs, and support the service staff to ensure flawless coordination throughout the dining room.
This role demands excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The host/hostess monitors open dining sections and table status, ensuring that everything is clean and ready for new guests. They are responsible for managing the guest waiting list, answering phone calls, and accommodating large parties by rearranging tables as necessary. The ability to anticipate guest needs and solve problems immediately is essential to maintain the high standards of service for which DeSimone Steakhouse is known.
In addition to guest interaction, this position includes the responsibility of coordinating break schedules for service staff and maintaining the hostess stand’s organization and cleanliness. The host/hostess supports billing related tasks, working collaboratively with the service team to check on the status of bills and assist with guest requests. This dynamic role requires stamina and attention to detail, as the individual will be standing, bending, and moving throughout their shift, which includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ideal candidates will have a minimum of two years’ experience in a fine-dining restaurant and previous experience in similar resort environments. A motivated attitude, professional appearance, and strong communication skills in English are must-haves. While prior Front of House experience is preferred, training will be provided to candidates who demonstrate an eagerness to learn and grow within the position.

Job Requirements
- 2 years of experience as host/hostess in a fine-dining restaurant
- previous experience working in a similar resort setting

- ability to maintain complete knowledge of entire menu and proper food handling presentation and service
- strong attention to details can make decisions quickly excellent computer and phone skills
- withstand prolonged standing stretching bending kneeling lifting and carrying items
- excellent customer service skills
- have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts
- professional appearance and demeanor
- work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
- foh experience preferred but will train
- able to effectively communicate in english in both written and oral forms
- must be 21 years of age

Job Duties
- Provides extraordinary service consistent with the DeSimone Steakhouse standards
- greets and seat guests in gracious manner and distribute among service staff equally and as fairly
- monitors guests that are seated and immediately respond to guest’s needs or request of first contact
- assists in accepting reservations answers phone in hospitable manner and confirms with manager if large parties can be accommodated
- checks on the billing status of casino room bill back and coupon and comp numbers to assist in closing of checks
- maintains the proper supplies for the hostess stand and podium cleans and or dusts host stand and podium
- assists service staff in their tasks as it relates to billing guest requests or guest information
- works with management team to coordinate break scheduling for service staff while ensure adequate floor coverage
- anticipate guest needs and provide service to each guest quickly and accurately advises manager of any guest complaints
- performs all other job-related duties as requested
