The Jamaica Bay Inn is currently seeking a part-time Host/Hostess to join its dynamic food and beverage team. This role is perfect for an energetic and personable individual who enjoys engaging with guests and contributing to a positive dining experience. The Host/Hostess serves as the first point of contact for guests arriving at the restaurant, playing a critical role in setting the tone for their visit by providing a friendly, cheerful, and courteous welcome. Responsibilities include greeting guests, managing seating arrangements, handling reservations, and maintaining the reservation book accurately. This position requires excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with guests and team members alike.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring smooth restaurant operations by assisting in restaurant preparation and cleanliness, monitoring guest needs throughout their dining experience, and maintaining comprehensive knowledge of menu items and beverage selections. When the Restaurant Manager or Supervisor is unavailable, the Host/Hostess will oversee all aspects of the restaurant, ensuring standards of service are consistently met. Additionally, the role involves addressing guest inquiries about in-house and local events and maintaining good guest relations. The Host/Hostess will also be responsible for inspecting tables and stations to ensure proper setup, handling telephone calls courteously, and assisting other departments as needed to enhance the overall hotel and restaurant performance.
