Job Description

North Italia is a renowned Italian restaurant brand known for its commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences by serving handmade Italian dishes crafted with love and fresh ingredients daily. Opening its newest location in Walnut Creek in March 2026, North Italia is poised to become a key culinary destination in the area. With a reputation for quality, hospitality, and an emphasis on team culture, the restaurant strives to create a welcoming environment not only for guests but for its team members as well. As a company, North Italia values inclusivity and diversity, making it an equal opportunity employer that embraces a spectrum of identities, perspectives, and backgrounds. Their corporate philosophy includes fostering professional growth, offering competitive wages, and providing comprehensive benefits to support the well-being of their workforce. North Italia is more than just an Italian restaurant; it is a family of dedicated professionals ranging from servers, hosts, and managers to chefs, all united by the goal of crafting the perfect Italian meal and memorable experiences for their guests.

The Host / Hostess role at North Italia Walnut Creek is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about hospitality and creating a warm, inviting atmosphere in a fast-paced restaurant setting. As the first point of contact for guests, hosts are responsible for greeting and welcoming patrons upon arrival, ensuring that each guest feels valued and cared for from the moment they step in. The role involves managing reservation lists, addressing wait times with clear communication, and seating guests in a manner that balances both their preferences and the flow of the restaurant. Attention to detail is crucial, as hosts must also ensure that tables and dining areas are presented neatly and meet the restaurant's high standards before seating guests. Beyond operational duties, hosts help establish relationships with regular guests by remembering names and preferences, contributing to a personalized and exceptional customer experience.

North Italia offers competitive compensation ranging from $16.90 to $18.00 per hour with flexibility in scheduling to accommodate various availability needs. The company supports employees’ health and wellness by offering health benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage for those averaging 25 hours per week. Additional perks such as paid time off after reaching the hour threshold, discounted shift meals, and a generous 35 percent discount when dining in for you and your party enhance the overall employment experience. Employees are also eligible for next-day pay up to 50 percent (with some exclusions) and receive robust hospitality training that enables career growth within the North Italia family. For individuals looking to start or grow their careers in the hospitality industry, this role provides foundational skills, exposure to a dynamic restaurant environment, and a supportive team culture that nurtures advancement.
