Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 6 months related hospitality experience preferred
- Excellent oral communication skills
- Basic data entry skills
- Ability to speak, read and write English
- Ability to assist patients with menu selections
- Ability to communicate effectively with nursing and nutrition staff
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and safety standards
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as delivering trays and moving supplies
Job Qualifications
- High school graduation or equivalent preferred
- 6 months related hospitality experience preferred such as waiting tables or receptionist at a restaurant
- Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic data entry skills preferred
- Ability to speak, read and write English to the extent required by the position
- Knowledge of a second language is helpful
Job Duties
- Visits patients to introduce food service department programs and collect food preferences
- Delivers and collects patient trays during meal service
- Makes rounds on assigned floors to ensure patient satisfaction and identify meal service problems
- Passes and collects patient satisfaction surveys
- Reports meal service-related problems to the Patient Care Manager and Nutrition Office
- Collects nutrition care order sheets from nursing units and delivers them to the Nutrition Office
- Distributes and collects patient menus according to pre-printed lists and assists patients in menu completion
- Communicates with nursing staff for early and late tray deliveries
- Delivers nourishments and between-meal snacks as ordered
- Cleans and maintains pantries, including refrigerators and cabinets
- Checks and discards expired food
- Maintains departmental policies, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control standards
