Job Duties
- Greet and welcome all customers immediately upon arrival and verify number in their party
- Determine special needs such as high chairs and special menus
- Collect payment from customers in accordance with established cash handling procedures and handle customer complaints and suggestions appropriately
- Seat customers at tables or booths that meet their needs and those of the restaurant and introduce the feature of the day
- Keep the hostess area stocked and clean including to-go items and bakery products
- Handle incoming telephone calls promptly and take to-go orders as appropriate
- Maintain a proper supply of clean menus
- Periodically offer initial beverage suggestions and provide beverage orders and refills
- Assist service personnel in cleaning and setting tables
- Resolve complaints as they arise and notify the manager of any complaints received
- Assist other service personnel as needed
