Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
At least one year of experience preferred
Ability to maintain a friendly and courteous demeanor
Effective communication skills
Ability to manage reservations and seating arrangements
Knowledge of restaurant operations and menu items preferred
Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform cleaning duties

Job Duties

Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to guests
Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members
Cheerfully and courteously greet and escort guests to tables and assist in seating at tables
Present menus and extend congenialities ensuring restaurant's standards of service
Take, record and confirm restaurant reservations/cancellation as specified in departmental standards
Assist in preparing the restaurant for service and maintaining the cleanliness of the dining room at all times
Assist in monitoring the guests' needs and all phases of the restaurant operations
Oversee all aspects of restaurant during absence of Restaurant Manager and/or Supervisor
Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, specials, liquor/beer/non-alcoholic selections available in the restaurant
Maintain good guest relations by keeping abreast of all in-house and area functions in order to answer questions and concerns with timely and knowledgeable responses
Inspect tables and stations ensuring that all set ups meet the department standards
Check throughout meal period
Relay deficiencies to respective team members and follow up on corrections
Answer restaurant telephone courteously and efficiently as specified in department standards
Extend courteous departures as guests leave the restaurant
Ensure tables are cleaned and reset according to standards
Report any missing/found articles or equipment/property damage to the Housekeeping Supervisor
Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department, restaurant and hotel
Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management
