Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a host or greeter role preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
- Strong customer service orientation
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
- Must maintain professional appearance
- Must have ServSafe certification
- Must have valid TIPs certification
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments
- Reliable and punctual
- Ability to multitask and handle stressful situations
Job Qualifications
- Hands-on food and beverage knowledge
- Comprehensive working knowledge of the hospitality business
- Relevant host experience in a fine dining restaurant preferred
- Willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
- Highly developed customer service skills with friendly approachable demeanor
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Proven ability to engage guests at all levels
- Passionate about providing warm, engaging and personalized service
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
- Ability to maintain positive and professional demeanor and composure under stress
- Punctual and reliable
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
- Maintain high standards of appearance and personal hygiene
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in English
- Comfortable speaking to guests, management, and co-workers
- Computer literacy including payroll systems, Micros, POS
- ServSafe certified
- Unexpired TIPs required
Job Duties
- Consistent maintenance and refinement of service standards
- Ensure compliance with all hotel standards and local laws
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and sanitation awareness standards
- Perform all necessary tasks for a host including answering phone, managing reservations and table assignments, greeting guest, seating guests, explaining restaurant concepts
- Perform all side work as assigned including organization of restaurant host stand and guest entrance, menu cleanliness
- Adhere to all proper trash procedures
- Retain and maintain complete knowledge of all food and beverage menu items
- Report any need for housekeeping or maintenance of restaurant and equipment
- Maintain furniture, fixtures and equipment to a high standard to minimize breakage
- Perform proper steps of service when seating guests
- Ensure high-quality table sets prior to seating
- Ensure positive guest service and respond positively to complaints
- Respond to guests' requests accurately and timely
- Maintain knowledge of hotel offerings and local surroundings
- Contribute to restaurant sanitation and timing of service
- Attend daily stand-up meetings
- Contribute to cleanliness and organization of all restaurant space, FOH & BOH
- Execute all necessary instructions on Restaurant Event Orders
- Encourage and build mutual trust, respect and cooperation among co-workers
- Maintain professional, neat and organized appearance
- Respond swiftly and effectively in emergency or safety situations
- Attend required department trainings and meetings
- Perform other duties as required by leadership
