Job Description

Hermes Boston Boutique, established in 1988 and part of the Northern Region network, represents the global luxury brand Hermes. The company is renowned worldwide for its commitment to exquisite craftsmanship, timeless design, and unparalleled customer service. Hermes has a rich history dating back to 1837, focused on artisanal excellence and humanist values. It operates as an independent, family-owned business dedicated to maintaining production in France with 42 workshops and a global presence comprising 310 stores across 49 countries. Employing over 15,000 people worldwide, more than 6,000 of whom are craftspeople, Hermes continues to uphold a tradition of creativity, innovation, and sustainability. At its Boston Boutique, Hermes strives to offer extraordinary client experiences that reflect its core values and dedication to quality.

The role of Greeter/Host at the Hermes Boston Boutique is an essential front-line position responsible for providing a warm and professional welcome to every client entering the boutique. Reporting to the Operations Manager and working within a fast-paced sales environment, the Greeter/Host oversees the initial client interaction by greeting customers, assessing their needs, and directing them efficiently to the appropriate store areas or team members. This position embodies Hermes' commitment to extraordinary service by fostering a welcoming and cooperative atmosphere. The Greeter/Host's responsibilities include managing appointment schedules, coordinating communication between departments such as selling, operations, and asset protection, and ensuring a seamless client experience from entry to departure.

The role demands exceptional communication skills, genuine curiosity about client needs, and a calm, polite demeanor when handling difficult situations. The Greeter/Host serves as a vital liaison supporting the boutique's operations, including appointment bookings via phone, managing client queues during high traffic periods, and providing thoughtful client-centric services like beverage assistance and escorting clients. A strong attention to detail, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and the ability to work flexible hours aligned with business needs are essential.

Hermes offers this position at an hourly rate of $23.00 to $25.00, determined based on job location and individual experience. Employees enjoy a range of benefits including commission and bonus incentives, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, paid time off, parental leave, and retirement plans with company matching. Additional voluntary benefits foster a supportive work environment focused on overall wellbeing. Hermes is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity, inclusion, and providing reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals.

Joining Hermes as a Greeter/Host provides a unique opportunity to be part of a prestigious luxury brand celebrated for its heritage, craftsmanship, and lasting commitment to sustainability. This role offers the chance to engage with discerning clients daily while upholding a reputation for excellence within a globally recognized Maison. Candidates who thrive in a client-focused, dynamic retail environment and who embody Hermes' values of respect, authenticity, and generosity will find rewarding career prospects in this role.
