The Restaurant Host-Hostess role at The Vineta Hotel is a pivotal position within the hotel’s esteemed dining facility. As the first point of contact for guests entering the restaurant, the Host-Hostess plays a vital role in shaping guests’ first impressions and ensuring a seamless, luxurious dining experience. This position involves greeting guests warmly and professionally, expertly managing reservations both in person and through the restaurant's reservation system, coordinating seating arrangements to optimize guest flow and server workload, and attentively accommodating special events and VIP requests. The ideal candidate demonstrates an enthusiastic commitment to hospitality excellence with a strong understanding of luxury service standards. They serve as the key liaison between guests and restaurant staff, facilitating smooth communication and coordination between servers, bartenders, and management. The role also includes responsibilities such as monitoring guest waiting areas, offering beverages or small snacks while managing wait times, maintaining a neat and organized host stand and dining environment, as well as actively supporting fellow team members during peak periods. Job Requirements

Minimum 1 year of work experience in a similar capacity with an understanding of luxury hotel standards of service
College degree in hospitality management or equivalent experience preferred
Ability to operate and maintain all departmental equipment, fully competent with POS systems
Fluent in english
Part-time position
Ability to work flexible hours including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays
Must be able to reach, bend, balance and transport various objects weighing up to 50 lbs during a shift
Outstanding abilities to build and maintain relationships and a regular client base, demonstrated ability to make a naturally positive lasting impression
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the united states on a full-time basis at the time of application

Job Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of work experience in a similar capacity with an understanding of luxury hotel standards of service
College degree in Hospitality Management or equivalent experience preferred
Ability to operate and maintain all departmental equipment, fully competent with POS systems
Fluent in English
other languages considered an asset
Ability to work flexible hours including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays
Outstanding abilities to build and maintain relationships and a regular client base, demonstrated ability to make a naturally positive lasting impression

Job Duties

Greet guests warmly and professionally as they arrive at the restaurant
Ensure a smooth and efficient flow of guests into the dining area, communicate waiting times and seating arrangements, and collaborate with servers and management to maximize guest satisfaction
Maintain awareness of special events such as birthdays or anniversaries and ensure these guests are recognized during their visit
Manage guest reservations in person or over the phone by maintaining the reservation book or using the restaurant's reservation system, providing guests with information about the restaurant and estimated wait times, while ensuring accurate and timely seating
Coordinate with management to accommodate large parties, special requests, or VIP guests, optimizing seating arrangements to ensure dining room is efficiently utilized
Escort guests to their table, offering them a menu and informing them about the restaurant’s specials or promotions
Monitor the guest waiting area, offering beverages or small snacks where appropriate, ensuring the area is neat, and keeping waiting times minimal
