Job Description
Providence Place is a renowned healthcare and hospitality establishment dedicated to providing exceptional dining experiences within a formal and fast-paced environment. As part of the larger Trinity Health network, Providence Place emphasizes compassionate, person-centered care, reflected not only in its healthcare services but also in the quality of its dining and hospitality operations. Known for their commitment to dignity, respect, and inclusiveness, Providence Place fosters a supportive workplace culture that values the unique perspectives, talents, and experiences each team member brings to the table. They pride themselves on delivering high-quality, attentive dining services to residents and guests alike, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere in their dining facilities.
The role of Host/Hostess at Providence Place is a pivotal position that combines customer service, operational efficiency, and team collaboration to ensure a smooth and enjoyable dining experience for every resident and guest. This part-time position operates on a rotating shift schedule, accommodating flexibility and a dynamic workplace rhythm. Hosts and Hostesses at Providence Place are entrusted with greeting and assisting residents, guiding them to their seats, and providing menus – all while maintaining a professional and hospitable demeanor that enhances the overall dining atmosphere.
In addition to frontline greeting duties, the Host/Hostess plays an essential role in managing the flow of the dining room during meal services. Coordinating closely with servers and the Director of Dining Services, the Host/Hostess helps to schedule staff effectively, ensuring sufficient coverage and a seamless dining operation. Attention to detail is critical, as the role involves preparing dining rooms and function spaces for meetings and events, as well as guaranteeing that cleanliness and closure procedures are meticulously followed each day.
Moreover, hosts/hostesses are active contributors to team development through training and performance evaluations of dining room personnel, helping to foster a motivated and skilled workforce. Delivering food and supplies to sister lounges is another key function, supporting the operational needs of the dining service department.
This position offers several compelling benefits to employees, including day-one eligibility for benefits, paid holidays, generous paid time off, and tuition reimbursement up to $4,000 annually. Employees also enjoy discounts with major vendors such as AT&T, Verizon, Ford Motor Company, General Motors, and Quicken Loans, among others. Health coverage options include low-cost medical, dental, and vision insurance, with additional savings when using facilities within the Trinity Health network. The organization also prides itself on fast interview and job offer turnaround times, providing a responsive and efficient hiring process.
Working at Providence Place means joining a team that values diversity, equity, and inclusion, with policies that ensure equal opportunity for all applicants, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any protected status by law. The position of Host/Hostess offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about high-quality food service and customer experience to contribute meaningfully within a respected healthcare and hospitality setting while benefiting from comprehensive employee benefits and a positive workplace environment.
