Job Requirements
- Must have and maintain an active Handlers' Card (ServSafe) and adhere to local food handler requirements
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Ability to handle physical demands including constant handling of food, carts and cooking equipment
- Constant use of hands while preparing food
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing less than 10-12 pounds constantly
- Frequently lift and carry objects between 21-30 pounds
- Occasionally lift objects more than 40 pounds, with items over 40 pounds carried by two people
- Ability to reach across surfaces, above shoulders and outward constantly
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting and kneeling
- Good or correctable vision required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with moderate to high noise levels
- Ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year experience in a food service or customer service role
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Excellent culinary skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects consistently
- Strong communication, time management, and resource planning skills
- Professional appearance
- Knowledge of safety and sanitation in the workplace
- Ability to lead a team
- Customer service skills
- Ability to move throughout the café and kitchen
- Ability to wipe down tabletops, table legs, pick up debris, and wipe down booth seats
Job Duties
- Accommodates special needs of guests
- Inspects dining room service stations for neatness and cleanliness
- Restocks food and condiment stations while avoiding contamination
- Prepares beverages and expedites food orders
- Monitors the number of guests entering and exiting the café
- Stocks and restocks utensils, plates, and glasses in the service area
- Uses carts to transport utensils, glassware, plates, and food
- Acts as a host/hostess for guests, takes orders, and sets/rests tables with place settings
- Follows safety and sanitation procedures as per OSHA, Department of Public Health and Risk Management guidelines
- Performs other duties as assigned
