The current vacancy is for the position of Host/Hostess at Al's Table restaurant. This is a part-time role that focuses on being the face of the restaurant by greeting guests warmly, ensuring seating arrangements are organized efficiently, and maintaining an inviting atmosphere from the moment guests arrive until their departure. The primary responsibility of the Host/Hostess is to deliver memorable dining experiences by providing exceptional customer service, demonstrating strong organizational capabilities, and displaying excellent interpersonal skills. The role involves anticipating guest needs, addressing special requests or complaints promptly, and collaborating effectively with other restaurant and hotel staff to uphold service excellence. Additionally, the Host/Hostess is tasked with maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the dining area, managing reservations and cancellations, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and hotel standard operating procedures. This position demands adaptability to a fast-paced environment, attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to guest satisfaction. Candidates must possess a minimum of one year of hosting experience, basic computer literacy, and the ability to operate POS and manual systems related to restaurant operations. Physical demands include standing for extended periods, lifting up to 25 pounds, and working under varying environmental conditions both indoors and outdoors. Job Duties

  • Ensuring all applicable safety regulations are communicated and adhered to by personal example
  • supporting full hotel compliance with safety rules and encouraging reporting and correcting near misses
  • adhering to SOPs and work procedures to ensure guest satisfaction and consistent service
  • immediately reporting all injuries to Loss Prevention and the manager on duty
  • maintaining knowledge of departmental policies, service procedures, and standards
  • anticipating guests' needs and responding promptly
  • resolving guest complaints to ensure satisfaction
  • being familiar with hotel services, local attractions, and activities
  • monitoring and maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of work areas
  • maintaining knowledge of scheduled daily activities, in-house groups, daily house count, hotel extension numbers, and hours of operation
  • preparing station charts and assigning stations to associates
  • setting up Host/Hostess station with necessary supplies and maintaining cleanliness
  • inspecting menus and wine lists for cleanliness and updates
  • inspecting restaurant environment and entrance area to maintain standards
  • answering restaurant telephone courteously and efficiently
  • taking, recording, and confirming restaurant reservations and cancellations
  • greeting and acknowledging all arriving guests
  • escorting and seating guests
  • communicating VIP arrivals and special requests to designated personnel
  • extending courteous departures and inviting guests to return
  • completing opening and closing duties as assigned
  • being familiar with the POS system and manual system procedures
  • performing other duties as assigned
