Job Description

Hai Hospitality is a renowned multi-concept restaurant group headquartered in Austin, Texas, known for its exceptional dining experiences and commitment to hospitality. Operating several celebrated restaurant brands including Uchi, Uchiko, Uchiba, and Loro, Hai Hospitality has established itself as a leader in culinary innovation and guest satisfaction. Each concept showcases a deep respect for quality ingredients, creative flair, and a passion for Japanese and Asian inspired cuisine. The group prides itself on a work culture that values teamwork, creativity, and personal growth, making it a sought-after employer in the hospitality industry.

At the heart of Hai Hospitality's philosophy is a dedication to delivering unforgettable dining experiences by focusing on authentic hospitality and community engagement. Employees are encouraged to take pride in their craftsmanship and contribute to an inclusive, supportive work environment. With locations expanding beyond Texas to Arizona and Florida, Hai Hospitality continues to uphold its high standards while adapting to diverse markets. The company embraces modern employment practices, including participation in E-Verify to ensure legal employment and promote workplace diversity.

The role of Host at Hai Hospitality’s Uchi, Uchiko, and Uchiba locations offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team dedicated to excellence in guest service. Hosts play an essential part in the overall dining experience by managing reservations and walk-in guests, setting clear expectations for wait times, and engaging with patrons in a warm and professional manner. This position is ideal for those passionate about food, service, and cultural experiences, offering a competitive average wage of $22 per hour including base pay and tips.

As a Host, your responsibilities extend beyond greeting guests and seat allocation; you are the first point of contact that shapes the guest's impression of the restaurant. You will be trained to master the menu and gain deep knowledge of Japanese cuisine and beverages such as sake, beer, and wine, enhancing your ability to offer cocktail service to guests awaiting their tables. The role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to coordinate smoothly with servers and management, and a keen sense of timing to optimize table turnover and guest satisfaction. It also involves maintaining an organized, welcoming environment and responding swiftly and tactfully to guest needs or concerns.

This position promotes a work environment committed to employee wellness and growth. Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and accident insurance options, an employee assistance program offering mental health services, and a 401k retirement savings plan with employer matching. Employees have the opportunity to advance within the company, as Hai Hospitality predominantly promotes from within, fostering long-term career development. Additionally, staff enjoy dining discounts and the opportunity to work in vibrant, creative spaces alongside passionate colleagues.

Working as a Host with Hai Hospitality means being part of a respected brand that not only values high standards and service excellence but also supports a diverse and inclusive workplace. Team members are encouraged to bring their unique experiences and creativity to their roles, contributing to the overall success and warm atmosphere of the restaurants. The work environment is fast-paced and energetic, perfect for individuals who thrive in collaborative settings and are eager to learn and grow in the hospitality industry.
