Job Description

The Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker Hotel, located in downtown Lincoln, Nebraska, is a historic establishment that has been serving the capital city for nearly 90 years. Part of the Milwaukee-based Marcus Hotels & Resorts, this landmark hotel has evolved as a benchmark for hospitality in the region. Marcus Hotels & Resorts, a division of The Marcus Corporation, brings a rich 60-year history of operational and service excellence to its portfolio of 15 unique hotels and resorts across the United States. Known for their unique character and style, these properties focus on creating extraordinary experiences for both guests and associates. The Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker Hotel is particularly recognized for its vibrant food and beverage services, including the Miller Time Pub & Grill and an inviting cafe for breakfast service.

We are currently seeking a Host to join our expanding front-of-house food and beverage team. This role is crucial in ensuring an excellent guest experience by warmly greeting and seating guests for both breakfast and lunch services. The Host will be responsible for setting the tone for guests' dining experiences and facilitating smooth operations within the dining areas. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy engaging with people and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in customer service or hospitality
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Availability to work morning and early afternoon shifts
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to handle guest interactions with professionalism and courtesy

Job Duties

  • Greet guests upon arrival
  • Seat guests according to availability and preference
  • Manage reservations and waitlists
  • Provide guests with menus and information about specials
  • Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow
  • Handle guest inquiries and resolve issues promptly
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host station
