Job Description
Delaware North's Patina Group is a prestigious hospitality company known for its longstanding legacy of over 100 years, operating globally across various industries including restaurants, hotels, sports, gaming, and retail. The company is family-owned and focused on providing exceptional experiences to guests while investing in the personal and professional growth of its team members. Patina 250, located within The Westin Buffalo in Buffalo, New York, is one of Delaware North's esteemed dining establishments. It offers fresh, thoughtful, and flavor-infused variations of Western New York’s authentic tastes. The restaurant features a refined and welcoming atmosphere enhanced by unique art installations created by local artists, contributing to a modern and inviting mood for guests seeking an exceptional dining experience.
This opportunity is for a Host position at Patina 250, available for both full-time and part-time employment. The role is a tipped position with an hourly wage ranging from $17.00 to $19.00, exclusive of any tips earned. The Host will play a pivotal role in greeting guests upon arrival, managing the host station efficiently, and ensuring a smooth flow within the dining area. Key responsibilities include reviewing the floor plan and reservation book daily to prepare seating charts, seating guests promptly while managing wait times, inspecting dining and serving areas for cleanliness and proper setup, and engaging with guests to ensure their satisfaction. Additionally, the Host will handle the restaurant telephone during assigned hours, respond empathetically to guest feedback, and maintain a friendly atmosphere by thanking guests as they leave.
The position requires a high energy level and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills are essential for interacting effectively with team members and guests. While prior experience in guest service is preferred, there is no requirement for a high school diploma or GED, making the role accessible to a broad range of candidates. Physical demands include the ability to remain on feet for the entire shift, navigate between tables and corners, and lift or carry up to 35 pounds.
Shift details are flexible, including evenings, holidays, weekdays, weekends, and days, accommodating various scheduling needs. Delaware North emphasizes a supportive work culture offering a range of benefits designed to promote team members' well-being and career advancement. These include weekly pay, training and development opportunities, employee discounts, and flexible work schedules. Eligible employees may also access health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, paid vacation days and holidays, paid parental bonding leave, employee assistance programs, and tuition or professional certification reimbursement.
Working at Delaware North means joining a global legacy where each team member is valued and empowered to succeed. The company’s commitment to equal opportunity employment ensures a diverse and inclusive workplace embracing applicants of all backgrounds without discrimination. Whether you are looking to start or continue a career in hospitality, the Host position at Patina 250 offers a chance to be part of a team delivering great times in great places while growing professionally and personally.
