This job opportunity is for the position of Food Service Assistant, a role that operates under the guidance of the Food & Nutrition Supervisor or Clinical Nutrition Manager. The food service team plays a critical role in the hospital’s mission by ensuring patients receive nutritious meals tailored to their individual care plans. The Food Service Assistant is responsible for assisting in food transportation and distribution to patients, maintaining a clean and sanitary environment, and adhering to safety standards.
This position offers a meaningful way to contribute directly to patient wellness by supporting proper nutrition and food safety. The Food Service Assistant helps prepare the workstation before mealtimes, assembles and distributes patient trays, and ensures timely and accurate food delivery and retrieval. Additionally, the role involves performing cleaning and sanitation duties to uphold the highest health standards within patient and preparation areas.
Employees in this role must ensure safety precautions are enacted to protect patients, staff, and visitors, enforcing departmental safety protocols. This position also requires flexibility to perform additional duties assigned by supervisors or management as needed to support the smooth functioning of food service operations.
