Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 3 months prior experience in cash handling and customer service
  • proficiency with cash register technology
  • ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
  • capacity to multitask and handle stressful customer service scenarios
  • physical ability to stand for long periods and lift light objects
  • visual acuity to read in dim lighting
  • commitment to maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor throughout shift

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience of at least 3 months in a role involving heavy cash handling and customer service
  • proficiency with computerized cash register systems
  • strong knowledge of standard cash handling procedures
  • general knowledge of restaurant operations and food service principles
  • capable of effective verbal and written communication in English
  • able to handle stressful and emotional customer service situations with tact
  • able to perform physical tasks including standing for entire shifts and light lifting up to 10 lbs

Job Duties

  • Meets arriving customers with cordial greeting
  • escorts customers to assigned tables and issues menus
  • solicits rapport to accommodate special needs or requests
  • assigns sections and notifies servers of new seats
  • maintains a visible presence in the restaurant during shifts
  • assists servers and responds to customer requests
  • receives and processes payment on computerized cash register
  • verifies accuracy of guest checks including pricing and payments
  • completes and verifies charge vouchers
  • collects customer feedback and reports to management
  • manages check issuance log
  • counts and balances daily revenues
  • reconciles computerized and manual reports at shift end
  • assists with restaurant cleanliness and sidework
  • checks table setup prior to opening
  • reports maintenance or housekeeping issues
  • maintains professional appearance and courteous demeanor
