This position is a part-time, non-management role primarily focused on the evening shift, making it ideal for individuals who thrive in social and dynamic environments. As a host or hostess at Il Mulino, the main responsibility is to greet guests warmly and efficiently determine the size of their party to arrange appropriate seating. The role involves managing seating arrangements, ensuring tables are clean, orderly, and well-prepared with current menus, clean silverware, napkins, and other standard place settings. Hosts guide guests through the dining rooms and assist them thoughtfully while maintaining a smooth flow of seating that accommodates any special group needs. This job demands attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills as individuals monitor the dining room for guest satisfaction, safety, and availability. Job Duties
- Greet guests and determine the number in their party
- Seat guests by finding a clean, available table, pulling out chairs, placing clean/current menu in front of guests
- Guide guests through the dining rooms and provide needed assistance
- Move and arrange tables, chairs, and settings and organize seating for groups with special needs
- Ensure place settings are appropriate and each guest has napkin, clean silverware, and other standard items
- Check menus to ensure they are current, clean, plentiful, and wrinkle-free
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day, practicing clean-as-you-go procedures
- Monitor dining rooms for seating availability, service, safety, and guest well-being
- Follow all company safety and security policies and report accidents or unsafe conditions
- Maintain professional appearance and uphold confidentiality
- Communicate clearly with guests and co-workers and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette
- Support team to reach common goals and respond appropriately to concerns
- Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance
