This position is integral to maintaining the high standards of hospitality and service synonymous with the Marriott brand. Offering an hourly wage of $19.00, the role demands open availability with a preference for weekend shifts, reflecting the fast-paced and guest-focused nature of the hospitality sector.
As a Host, you will be the first point of contact for guests entering the restaurant, setting the tone for their dining experience. Your responsibilities include greeting guests warmly, accurately determining the size of their party, and seating them efficiently by finding a clean and available table. You will be responsible for preparing the seating area by pulling out chairs and placing clean, current menus in front of guests, ensuring that all place settings are complete and meet the hotel’s quality standards.
Beyond seating guests, you will monitor the dining room environment, ensuring its cleanliness, safety, and readiness to accommodate guests comfortably. This includes organizing tables and chairs to accommodate groups with special needs, maintaining the inventory and condition of menus, and practicing strict 'clean-as-you-go' procedures to support a hygienic and inviting atmosphere.
The role also emphasizes adherence to company policies regarding safety and security, requiring strict compliance with protocols, timely reporting of accidents or unsafe conditions, and participation in ongoing safety training. Personal presentation is equally important, as representatives of the Marriott brand, all associates must maintain a clean, professional appearance.
Communication skills are critical to this role; you will interact with guests and team members using clear and professional language, respond to inquiries, and manage telephone etiquette effectively. Job Requirements
- Restaurant experience preferred

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- No prior related work experience required

Job Duties
- Greet guests and determine the number in their party
- Seat guests by finding a clean, available table
- Pull out chairs and place clean/current menus in front of guests
- Guide guests through the dining rooms and provide assistance
- Move and arrange tables, chairs, and settings for special needs groups
- Ensure place settings are appropriate and guests have napkins and clean silverware
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and practice clean-as-you-go procedures
- Monitor dining rooms for seating availability, service, safety, and guest well-being
- Follow company safety and security policies and report accidents and unsafe conditions
- Maintain a clean and professional personal appearance
