The current opportunity is for a Part-Time Casual Dining Host position on the evening shift at The Ritz-Carlton Boston. With a competitive pay rate of $31.05 per hour plus tips, this role is ideal for individuals who enjoy engaging with guests and contributing to a seamless dining experience in a luxury setting. The host will be instrumental in providing the highest level of customer service by guiding guests to their seats, ensuring cleanliness and readiness of dining areas, and assisting with any guest needs throughout the dining experience. They support operational flow by moving and arranging tables, chairs, and table settings as required, and by monitoring guest satisfaction and safety at all times. Physical duties include prolonged standing, walking, and the ability to move objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance.

Job Duties

  • Greet guests and determine the number of people in the party
  • Indicate seating to guests by offering a clean and available table, removing chairs, placing clean and updated menus in front of each guest
  • Guide guests through the dining areas and provide assistance when needed
  • Move and arrange tables, chairs, and silverware, organizing seating layouts for groups with special needs
  • Ensure correct cutlery and that each guest has a napkin, clean utensils, and any other standard place setting items
  • Verify menus to ensure they are clean, complete, up-to-date, and wrinkle-free
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day by following constant cleaning procedures
  • Monitor seat availability, service quality, guest safety, and comfort in the dining rooms
  • Comply with all safety policies and company procedures, report accidents, injuries, unsafe working conditions, and complete safety training and certifications
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are neat and professional
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets
  • Answer phones using proper protocols
  • Cultivate positive working relationships with colleagues, support team goals, and appropriately respond to co-worker concerns
  • Uphold quality expectations and standards
  • Stand, sit, or walk for prolonged periods
  • Move, lift, transport, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 10 pounds without help
