Job Description
The Ritz-Carlton, located at 455 Grand Bay Dr, Miami, Florida, is a prestigious and award-winning luxury hotel renowned for its exceptional service and refined hospitality. As part of Marriott International, The Ritz-Carlton stands as a global leader in the luxury hospitality industry, committed to delivering unparalleled guest experiences that create lifelong memories. With a network of over 100 properties worldwide, The Ritz-Carlton is celebrated for its culture of empowerment, creativity, and compassion, providing guests with rare and special luxury service through the dedication of its Ladies and Gentlemen—its employees. The company proudly values diversity, equal opportunity, and fosters an inclusive environment where every associate's unique background and experiences are respected and celebrated.
This part-time, non-management position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about hospitality and guest service to join The Ritz-Carlton team in Miami. The role of a Host/Hostess is crucial in setting the tone for a guest’s dining experience by welcoming and seating guests courteously and efficiently in a polished and professional manner. As the first point of contact in the dining area, you will ensure that guests receive warm and gracious greetings, accurate seating arrangements based on party size and special needs, and a seamless transition to their dining experience.
In this role, your responsibility stretches beyond seating arrangements to maintaining the ambiance and functionality of the dining rooms. You will be tasked with moving and organizing tables and chairs to accommodate guests, ensuring place settings are impeccable with clean utensils, napkins, and up-to-date menus. Your attention to detail will help maintain the cleanliness of work areas, and your vigilance will contribute to the safety and comfort of all guests and staff. The position demands proactivity in monitoring the dining area for available seating and guest needs, ensuring that all interactions and communications uphold the highest company standards.
Additionally, working at The Ritz-Carlton means upholding the esteemed "Gold Standards," which form the foundation of the hotel's culture and guest service philosophy. As a Host/Hostess, you will embody these values, including the Employee Promise, Credo, and Service Values, all of which encourage quality, respect, and a commitment to excellence. The role requires professionalism, clear communication, teamwork, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as standing and walking for extended periods, and moving objects up to 10 pounds.
Joining The Ritz-Carlton offers more than just a job; it provides a platform for personal and professional growth within a globally recognized brand. You will be part of a team that thrives on delivering the finest hospitality service and creating moments that guests cherish forever. This role does not require previous related work experience or supervisory experience, making it accessible to newcomers to the industry who are eager to learn and grow within the field of luxury hospitality.
