The company operates various luxury and upscale hotel brands, including W Hotels, which is renowned for its vibrant and modern approach to luxury accommodation. The W Hotels brand aims to spark curiosity and expand horizons by offering an environment that celebrates life, creativity, and individuality. Founded on the philosophy of 'Whatever/Whenever' service, the brand delivers personalized and attentive service, ensuring guests' needs and desires are anticipated and met with excellence. Marriott International values diversity and inclusivity, promoting a welcoming workplace where associates from diverse backgrounds can thrive and grow professionally. This approach fosters a harmonious and dynamic team environment where ideas and talents are cherished, leading to exceptional experiences for guests worldwide.
The role available is for a part-time, non-management position located at 6250 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood, California, within the Food and Beverage & Culinary category. The hourly pay rate for this position is $32.20 and is tip eligible. As a key member of the W Hotels team, the incumbent will be responsible for welcoming guests and providing them with outstanding service that reflects the brand's vibrant culture. The primary focus is to manage seating arrangements efficiently, ensuring all tables are clean and ready for use, menus are current, and guests' needs are met promptly and professionally. This includes guiding guests through dining areas, attending to special seating requests, organizing and adjusting tables and chairs as needed, and maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the workspace throughout the day.
In this role, the associate will also ensure that table settings are complete, including clean cutlery, napkins, and any other standard tableware components. Maintaining updated, clean menus free from wear is essential to uphold the high standards expected by Marriott International and W Hotels. The individual will also monitor seating availability and guest safety, ensuring a comfortable and secure dining environment. Safety and compliance with company policies are paramount; the employee will be expected to report any accidents, unsafe conditions, and participate in safety training to meet certification requirements.
Professional appearance and behavior are critical in maintaining the brand's premium image. The role requires standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods and the ability to move or lift objects weighing up to 10 pounds independently. Effective communication skills are necessary, including interacting clearly and professionally with guests and other team members and handling phone calls according to established protocols. Building strong, positive relationships with coworkers and supporting the team in achieving common goals are emphasized aspects of the role. The employee must adhere to all quality expectations and standards, demonstrating commitment to excellence in all facets of the job.
Joining the W Hotels team offers the opportunity to work in a vibrant, innovative environment that strives to push the boundaries of luxury hospitality. Employees become part of a global brand portfolio under Marriott International, gaining access to diverse career development opportunities and a supportive community that values diversity, creativity, and personal growth. This position is an excellent fit for individuals who are original, forward-thinking, and passionate about delivering exceptional guest service while contributing to a dynamic and inclusive workplace culture.
