The Host/Hostess position at Salt + Marrow Kitchen is essential in setting the tone for a guest's dining experience. Acting as the first point of contact, the host plays a critical role in greeting guests warmly and professionally, managing seating arrangements efficiently, and contributing to a smooth flow of service throughout each shift. Responsibilities include managing the waitlist and seating chart to ensure balanced sections for servers, assisting with guest inquiries and reservations via phone, and maintaining cleanliness and organization at the host stand and entrance areas. The role requires excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with servers, bartenders, management, and kitchen staff, ensuring coordinated service and guest satisfaction. Flexibility is required as the host supports the food and beverage team during peak service times and assists with opening and closing duties as needed.
