The Host/Hostess handles the restaurant's waitlist, assists with reservations, and communicates effectively with the front and back-of-house team to ensure a smooth seating flow and balanced service sections. The role demands exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume hospitality environment while maintaining a calm, organized, and professional demeanor. In addition to managing guest seating, the Host/Hostess supports the Food and Beverage team during peak hours, maintains cleanliness and organization of the host stand and waiting areas, and addresses guest concerns promptly with professionalism. Job Requirements
- Greet guests promptly and professionally upon arrival
- manage the restaurant waitlist and seating chart efficiently
- escort guests to tables and provide menus
- answer incoming phone calls and assist with reservations, restaurant inquiries, and guest requests
- communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, managers, and kitchen staff regarding seating flow and guest needs
- monitor dining room capacity and coordinate seating to ensure balanced server sections
- maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand, entrance, and waiting areas
- assist with opening and closing duties as assigned
- thank guests as they depart and invite them to return
- support the food and beverage team during peak service periods as needed
- address guest concerns professionally and notify management of any issues requiring escalation
- maintain knowledge of restaurant offerings, promotions, hours of operation, and hotel amenities
Job Qualifications
- Previous restaurant, hospitality, customer service, or guest-facing experience preferred
