Job Description

The Sheraton New Orleans Hotel, located at 500 Canal Street in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Louisiana, is a distinguished establishment offering exceptional hospitality and a premier lodging experience. As part of the globally recognized Marriott International family, Sheraton is known for its commitment to excellence, welcoming guests from all over the world with warm service and a comfortable atmosphere. With over 400 communities globally, Sheraton creates spaces that encourage connection and belonging, making it a favored destination for travelers seeking meaningful experiences. The hotel seamlessly combines the rich cultural heritage of New Orleans with modern amenities, striving to be the 'point of connection in the world' for visitors and locals alike. Sheraton's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion fosters a workplace where every employee feels valued and empowered to contribute to the hotel's ongoing success.

This part-time, non-management position offers an hourly pay rate of $15.00, with work shifts scheduled from 6 AM to 12 PM. The role specifically resides within the Food and Beverage & Culinary category, focusing on enhancing guest experiences through attentive service and operational support. The position demands flexibility with open availability, including preferred weekend and holiday shifts, to cater to the dynamic needs of hotel guests.

As a Guest Service Expert at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel, you will be integral to crafting memorable and unique dining experiences. Your responsibilities extend beyond merely serving food and beverage to guests; you will actively engage in personalized service initiatives that enrich each guest's visit. This includes the preparation and arrangement of tables, assisting kitchen staff, maintaining cleanliness in work areas, and replenishing supplies efficiently. The role requires proactive energy, ensuring that all elements of the food and beverage service contribute seamlessly to the overall guest satisfaction.

Success in this position hinges on adhering to safety standards, company policies, and maintaining high-quality service standards. Additionally, employees must present themselves professionally, ensuring their uniforms, personal appearance, and communication reflect the Sheraton brand's excellence. The job involves physical activity such as standing, walking on uneven or inclined surfaces, lifting light objects up to 50 pounds, reaching, bending, twisting, stretching, and crouching. These duties require stamina and agility to ensure all tasks are performed competently and guests receive optimal service.

Sheraton values educational achievement, with a minimum requirement of a high school diploma, GED, or an equivalent general education development certificate. While previous experience in food service environments is not mandatory, it is considered an asset. No supervisory experience or additional certifications are required for this role. Sheraton promotes a supportive and inclusive work environment, dedicated to providing equal opportunities without discrimination. Joining Sheraton signifies becoming part of a vast international network committed to teamwork, diversity, and delivering exceptional guest experiences. If you are passionate about hospitality and enjoy working in a team-oriented setting to impact guest satisfaction positively, this role offers a promising opportunity to develop your skills and become your best professional self.
