Job Description
Mowry & Cotton Restaurant is a distinguished dining establishment located within The Phoenician, a Luxury Collection Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona. The Phoenician is known for its opulent accommodations and exceptional guest experiences, serving as a prestigious destination for travelers and locals alike. Mowry & Cotton Restaurant continues this tradition by offering an upscale menu and attentive service in an elegant setting that reflects the luxury and cultural richness of the resort. As part of a globally recognized portfolio under Marriott International, the resort and its dining venues pride themselves on delivering exemplary standards of hospitality, cultural authenticity, and personalized guest care.
The role available at Mowry & Cotton Restaurant is a full-time, non-management position that is integral to the front-of-house operations. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for welcoming guests, managing seating arrangements, maintaining the cleanliness and readiness of dining areas, and providing support to the service team to ensure an outstanding dining experience. This position requires interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment focused on luxury hospitality. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and while no prior experience is mandatory, experience in food service environments will be valued. This role does not require supervisory experience or specific certifications, making it an excellent opportunity for those seeking to begin or further develop their career in the culinary and hospitality industry.
In this capacity, the employee will greet guests and ascertain the size of their party, escort them courteously to their tables, and ensure that seating areas are prepared according to the highest cleanliness and presentation standards. Responsibilities also include managing table settings — such as installing appropriate cutlery, fresh napkins, and updated menus — as well as assisting guests throughout their dining experience. Internal duties entail maintaining a clean and organized work environment, overseeing the safety and comfort of guests within the dining areas, and following all company policies and safety procedures. The role requires physical activity, including standing or walking for extended periods and moving objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Communication skills are essential both for guest interaction and collaboration with team members, emphasizing professionalism in verbal engagement and telephone etiquette.
Mowry & Cotton operates within the ethos of Marriott International’s commitment to equal opportunity employment, fostering a welcoming and inclusive workplace that celebrates diversity. The Luxury Collection brand, with its rich history dating back to 1906, is renowned for its portfolio of iconic hotels and resorts globally, each offering unique, authentic luxury experiences crafted from a deep respect for their destinations' cultural heritage. Joining this team means becoming part of a world-class organization where professional growth, genuine hospitality, and exceptional service converge, allowing individuals to perform their best and contribute meaningfully to the guest experience. Opportunities abound within this network for those passionate about luxury hospitality and cultural storytelling through curated culinary experiences.
