Job Description
Marriott International is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, renowned for its commitment to excellence, innovative service, and creating memorable experiences for guests worldwide. As one of the most respected hotel companies, Marriott operates a diverse portfolio of brands ranging from luxury to moderate segments, including the celebrated JW Marriott brand which epitomizes the luxury hotel experience. Marriott International actively fosters an inclusive and supportive work environment where associates from a wide spectrum of backgrounds are valued and celebrated. The company takes pride in its diversity and is dedicated to being an equal opportunity employer, ensuring a workplace free of discrimination of any kind. Marriott Hotels consistently strive to elevate the art of hospitality by blending traditional graciousness with modern innovations to meet the evolving needs of travelers.
The role of a Host at Marriott Hotels, specifically within the JW Marriott luxury brand, is a pivotal entry-level position dedicated to delivering exceptional guest service and setting the tone for a welcoming dining experience. Hosts act as the first point of contact for guests arriving at the dining venue, ensuring that every guest feels acknowledged with warmth and professionalism. This position requires guiding guests seamlessly through their seating process, including greeting them, determining party size, escorting them to clean and well-prepared tables, and arranging seating configurations for parties with special needs. Hosts are also responsible for maintaining impeccable dining room conditions by ensuring all place settings, menus, and surroundings meet Marriott’s high standards of cleanliness and orderliness.
Beyond guest seating, hosts actively monitor the dining room to balance seating availability and guest safety while maintaining attentive awareness to guests’ needs. The role also demands adherence to all company safety and security policies and maintaining a professional personal appearance. Hosts serve as ambassadors of service quality, consistently meeting Marriott’s standards of hospitality and contributing to a positive work environment by fostering strong teamwork and communication among staff. While this position does not require prior hospitality experience or supervisory experience, a willingness to embrace Marriott’s values and deliver heartfelt service is essential. Marriott Hotels offer a dynamic and rewarding work environment where new associates can grow through development opportunities, gain valuable industry experience, and take pride in contributing to a globally respected hospitality brand. As part of the esteemed JW Marriott family, hosts enjoy a workplace culture that prioritizes associate well-being, continued learning, and providing exceptional service excellence that guests remember. Marriott’s mission to be the best host in the world begins with associates like hosts who lay the foundation of Wonderful Hospitality, Always.
