Job Description
The Resort at Pelican Hill, located in Newport Beach, California, is a luxurious destination known for its impressive blend of casual elegance and refined guest services. This resort provides an exceptional experience to its visitors by offering a serene coastal environment coupled with high-end amenities and world-class hospitality. The Resort is part of the renowned Marriott International portfolio, which is globally recognized for its commitment to quality, superior customer service, and fostering an inclusive workplace culture that values diversity and encourages personal and professional growth among its associates. As a full-time, non-management position, this role offers a competitive hourly wage of $17.90, with an added benefit of tip eligibility, making it a rewarding opportunity for individuals passionate about guest service in the food and beverage industry.
The position available is focused on providing an unparalleled dining experience by acting as the first point of contact for guests at the resort's dining establishments. The role involves greeting guests upon arrival, determining party sizes, and guiding them to clean and ready tables while ensuring all seating arrangements, place settings, and menus meet the highest standards of cleanliness and availability. A critical aspect of the job is maintaining the dining area's cleanliness and organization, strictly following company policies, safety, and security guidelines to promote a safe and comfortable environment for both guests and staff. Attention to detail is imperative as the individual must ensure every table setting is correctly arranged with clean silverware, napkins, and current menus, reflecting the luxury status of the resort.
Moreover, the role requires excellent communication skills, as interacting professionally with guests and team members is paramount, including answering telephone calls with proper etiquette and addressing guest needs promptly and courteously. The individual must also be physically capable of standing or moving for extended periods and handling light objects as necessary to support seating arrangements and dining room logistics. Beyond the core responsibilities, the position encourages teamwork, supporting colleagues to achieve common goals and maintaining confidentiality regarding proprietary company information. It is a position well-suited for those who thrive in a bustling, high-quality hospitality environment, who have a welcoming personality, and who are eager to contribute to creating memorable guest experiences at a distinguished luxury resort.
