As a Host at Milk & Honey, you will serve as the welcoming face of the restaurant and play a vital role in shaping guests' first impressions. This customer-facing role involves greeting guests warmly, managing seating arrangements, and ensuring a smooth and enjoyable flow throughout their dining experience. Your friendly and enthusiastic demeanor will set the tone for the visit, making each guest feel valued and cared for from the moment they enter. You will work closely with the waitstaff to coordinate timely seating and maintain an organized, efficient environment that enhances overall guest satisfaction.
The Host position requires exceptional communication and multitasking skills, as you will be handling guest inquiries, answering phone calls, and managing reservation bookings all while maintaining composure in a fast-paced setting. Physical stamina is important for this role, as it involves standing and walking for extended periods and occasionally lifting and moving light items such as menus and booster seats. Working flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays, is necessary to meet the varied scheduling needs of the restaurant.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 20 lbs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and remain composed under pressure
Job Qualifications
- Experience in high volume, upscale casual dining or an equivalent service environment preferred
- Ability to work flexible shifts and schedules, inclusive of weekends and some holidays
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 6-8 hours)
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs (e.g., menus, high chairs, booster seats)
- Ability to reach, bend, and stoop occasionally
- Use of hands and arms to operate reservation systems and phones
- Clear verbal communication skills and ability to interact with guests in a busy environment
- Ability to remain calm and composed while multitasking in a fast-paced setting
Job Duties
- Creating a memorable first impression by warmly welcoming guests with a radiant smile and genuine enthusiasm
- Managing the flow of the restaurant, expertly coordinating seating arrangements to ensure a seamless and enjoyable dining experience
- Engaging guests with your exceptional communication skills, providing them with helpful information about our menu and specials
- Mastering the art of multitasking as you gracefully handle guest inquiries, phone calls, and reservation bookings with efficiency and poise
- Collaborating with the waitstaff to ensure timely seating and smooth transitions between guests, optimizing our restaurant's efficiency and guest satisfaction
- Embracing the role of an ambassador of hospitality, ensuring that each guest feels valued and receives personalized attention throughout their visit
