The Host/Hostess role is an essential part of our front-of-house team. This position is responsible for managing the timely and efficient seating of guests, ensuring that patrons are assigned to tables that best suit their needs while maintaining an equitable rotation among the servers. The Host/Hostess warmly greets guests upon arrival, provides menus, and answers incoming phone calls to manage reservations, respond to inquiries, or transfer calls to the appropriate personnel. Maintaining a clean and safe facility is a key part of the role, with adherence to health department codes and regulations paramount.
Additionally, the Host/Hostess supports other restaurant staff as needed and communicates significant issues promptly to their direct supervisor. This role requires someone with a personable and outgoing demeanor, capable of taking initiative and working both independently and cooperatively within a team. The position demands a flexible availability to work mornings, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays to accommodate the dynamic nature of the hospitality industry. Job Requirements
- Must be personable, outgoing and demonstrate initiative
- Previous restaurant experience preferred
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, including employees and the general public
- Ability to speak and write clearly, concisely and persuasively using correct grammar, spelling and punctuation with ability to communicate one-on-one or in group settings
- Ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy and organization

Job Duties
- Assigns patrons to table suitable for their needs and according to rotation so servers receive an appropriate number of seatings
- Greets guests upon their arrival and seats them and provides menus
- Answers phones to take reservations, respond to customer inquiries, or transfer calls to the appropriate staff member
- Maintains a clean, safe facility and ensures compliance with health department codes and regulations
- Assist restaurant staff as needed
- Keeps direct supervisor promptly informed of key/significant issues or concerns
- Carries out duties and responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner to maintain a safe work environment and surrounding area for oneself, co-workers and public
- Performs related duties as assigned or apparent
