Job Description

Besos Cocina & Cantina is a well-established family-style restaurant undergoing an exciting relaunch with significant upgrades and remodeling aimed at enhancing the overall dining experience. Located in a spacious venue that offers over 4500 square feet of indoor dining area and an additional 2500 square feet of beautifully decorated patio space, Besos Cocina & Cantina is known for catering to a wide variety of guests including families, couples on date nights, business diners, and special events such as birthdays, anniversaries, and company team builders. The restaurant's extensive renovations include new granite bar tops, updated flooring, refreshed table tops, new uniforms for staff, a redesigned menu, and revitalized décor throughout the facility. The bar itself is a centerpiece of the space, accommodating nearly 30 guests and designed to create a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. This relaunch emphasizes maintaining a friendly, chill vibe while delivering exceptional food and outstanding service that guests expect. The company operates with a commitment to strong policies and procedures to ensure smooth operations, excellent hospitality, and high standards in every aspect of the dining experience.

The Host/Hostess role at Besos Cocina & Cantina is a vital front-of-house position. As the first point of contact for guests, the host/hostess sets the tone for an enjoyable dining experience by providing a warm welcome and managing efficient seating arrangements. This role demands a professional demeanor, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain composure during high-traffic periods. The host/hostess manages the waitlist and coordinates seating to balance server sections, ensuring smooth flow and minimizing guest wait times. Effective communication with both guests and staff is critical, and the host/hostess also assists with answering phone calls, taking to-go orders, and providing general information about the restaurant. Maintaining cleanliness and organization at the host stand, entryway, and restrooms is also part of the responsibilities, supporting the overall inviting atmosphere of the establishment. Additionally, compliance with all state and local health and safety requirements, including Texas Food Handler certification, is required to uphold the highest standards of guest safety and satisfaction. Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a host/hostess or guest-facing role in a restaurant
  • Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Strong customer service skills with a focus on hospitality
  • Must have or be able to obtain a valid Texas Food Handler's Certificate before start date
  • Must meet all state and local regulatory requirements
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
