Job Description

Hotel del Coronado is a historic and iconic resort located on Coronado Island, just minutes from Downtown San Diego. Known for its distinctive Victorian architecture, the hotel is one of the last surviving wooden Victorian beach resorts in the world. Established in 1888, it boasts a vast 28-acre property with over 750 rooms, including cottages and villas. The resort also offers 65,000 square feet of banquet space and hosts 10 food and beverage outlets, including four restaurants, two bars, a food truck, a marketplace, an ice cream shop, and in-room dining options. Following a massive $400 million renovation and expansion, the hotel now shines more stunningly than ever, blending its rich history with modern luxury and amenities. This combination makes it a premier destination for guests seeking an exceptional seaside experience in Southern California.

The Hotel del Coronado is currently seeking a Host / Hostess (Seasonal) to join its esteemed Food & Beverage team. This role is critical in upholding the hotel’s renowned reputation for hospitality and guest service. The Host / Hostess is the first point of contact for guests entering the dining outlets, playing a key role in delivering memorable experiences through warm greetings, efficient seating, and attentiveness to guest needs. The position is seasonal, ideal for individuals looking to engage in hospitality during peak times while gaining valuable experience in a high-profile, historic resort setting.

The role involves managing seating charts to maintain smooth flow and monitoring dining activity to ensure guests enjoy seamless service. Hosts / Hostesses also respond promptly to inquiries and special requests, contributing to standout service standards. Operational responsibilities include opening and closing duties and assisting with service preparation, such as stocking and folding silverware. The position demands a passion for hospitality, integrity, teamwork, leadership, ownership, and attentiveness to the moment, embodying the core values of Hilton, the hotel’s managing company.

Working at Hotel del Coronado means joining an award-winning workplace culture recognized worldwide by Great Place to Work and Fortune for being one of the best workplaces globally. Hilton’s commitment to exceptional guest experiences and supportive team environments ensures that employees not only build successful careers but also enjoy fulfilling work lives. Whether you are new to hospitality or an experienced professional, this seasonal host/hostess role offers an excellent opportunity to be part of a historic landmark and a leading global hospitality brand that values its team members and guests alike.
