The role of a Host/Hostess at Aramark is pivotal as this individual becomes the face of customer service, the first warm greeting, and the lasting impression of the dining experience. The Host/Hostess plays an essential role in both the guest experience and smooth operational flow by greeting and seating guests thoughtfully to optimize table usage. This role extends beyond basic greeting duties to include accommodating special requests, maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the front-of-house environment, addressing guest needs or issues promptly, and collaborating closely with kitchen and service staff to ensure seamless communication and service efficiency. Adaptability and a positive demeanor are critical, as this role demands excellent customer service skills to ensure guests leave happy.

Hosts and Hostesses at Aramark are expected to follow company safety policies and food sanitation protocols closely. The position may involve physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, standing for long periods, and wearing uniforms or personal protective equipment as needed. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in hosting or food service preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work evenings weekends and holidays
  • Ability to obtain food safety certification
  • Capacity to meet physical demands of the role including lifting and standing for extended periods

Job Qualifications

  • Previous host or hostess or food service experience preferred
  • Demonstrates excellent guest service skills
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills accuracy and attention to detail
  • The ideal candidate has a flexible schedule to work evenings weekends and holidays
  • Enjoys working in a lively environment
  • Must be able to obtain food safety certification
  • Ability to handle physical demands including lifting bending pushing pulling and extended walking and standing
  • Willingness to wear uniforms and use personal protective equipment as required

Job Duties

  • Greets guests as they arrive seat them accordingly ensuring the optimum use of tables
  • Ensures any special needs or requests for diners are accommodated and arranged
  • Maintains the appearance and cleanliness of the front-of-house environment
  • Escalates any guest needs or concerns as necessary
  • Works closely with the kitchen staff and servers optimizing communication to ensure efficient operations
  • Maintains excellent guest service and positive demeanor towards guests clients co-workers etc
  • Adaptable to guest needs
  • Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation
