The Host/Hostess role at Aramark is an essential position that serves as the first impression and lasting touchpoint of customer service in dining locations. This role is perfect for someone who is sociable, organized, empathetic, and efficient. As a Host/Hostess, you will greet guests warmly, seat them in an optimal manner maximizing table use, and accommodate any special dining requests. This role is more than just managing seating; it involves developing positive connections with guests, responding to their needs promptly, and collaborating with kitchen and serving staff to ensure seamless dining experiences. Maintaining cleanliness and a welcoming front-of-house environment, adhering to food safety protocols, and escalating guest concerns when necessary are also key responsibilities. The position demands adaptability to guest needs and working within a dynamic and sometimes lively atmosphere.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous host or hostess experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain a positive and friendly demeanor
  • Flexibility to work evenings weekends and holidays
  • Ability to obtain food safety certification
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting bending pushing pulling and standing for extended periods
  • Willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment PPE as required

Job Qualifications

  • Previous host/hostess or food service experience preferred
  • Demonstrates excellent guest service skills
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills accuracy and attention to detail
  • Flexible schedule to work evenings weekends and holidays
  • Enjoys working in a lively environment
  • Able to obtain food safety certification
  • Capable of managing physical demands such as lifting bending pushing pulling and/or extended walking and standing
  • Comfortable with wearing uniforms and personal protective equipment PPE

Job Duties

  • Greets guests as they arrive seat them accordingly ensuring the optimum use of tables
  • Ensures any special needs or requests for diners are accommodated and arranged
  • Maintains the appearance and cleanliness of the front-of-house environment
  • Escalates any guest needs or concerns as necessary
  • Works closely with the kitchen staff and servers optimizing communication to ensure efficient operations
  • Maintains excellent guest service and positive demeanor towards guests clients co-workers etc
  • Adaptable to guest needs
