Job Description

Grease & Honey Restaurants is a locally owned and operated hospitality company based in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The company proudly features four independent restaurant concepts: The Garage, The Buzz, Sazzy B, and The Apis. The Apis Hotel & Restaurant, a key establishment within the Grease & Honey portfolio, opened its doors in July 2020 as a premier multi-level hospitality destination. Located in Kenosha, roughly halfway between Chicago, IL, and Milwaukee, WI, and just blocks from the shores of Lake Michigan, The Apis combines modern design with globally inspired cuisine. It features a full-service restaurant, multiple event spaces, a rooftop bar, and six premium guestrooms, providing guests with a unique blend of culinary excellence and luxurious accommodations. The Apis maintains a strong commitment to sourcing local, seasonal ingredients and delivering exemplary service, ensuring an elevated experience for all visitors.

The position of Host at The Apis Hotel & Restaurant is an integral front-of-house role designed for individuals who take pride in being the initial and final ambassadors of hospitality for their guests. Hosts at The Apis are responsible for warmly greeting and thanking guests, managing reservations and seating arrangements promptly, and efficiently accommodating walk-in guests in a fast-paced, professional atmosphere. This role requires a friendly yet exacting professional who can uphold the company’s values and standards while providing approachable and thoughtful service. Hosts must manage the reservation and seating system adeptly and communicate clearly with guests regarding any wait times or delays. Beyond greeting guests, Hosts maintain an organized front-of-house environment that supports timely seating and smooth overall operations. They also uphold an appearance consistent with grooming and dress code standards, work collaboratively with management, and address any guest concerns with empathy and professionalism. Job Duties

  • Greet all guests entering The Apis and thank all guests leaving The Apis
  • Ensure reservations are prioritized and seated in a timely manner
  • Strive to accommodate walk-in guests whenever possible
  • Clearly and politely communicate with guests when delays and or waits occur
  • Maintain an organized floor by quickly and efficiently seat guests according to company standards
  • Understand and operate the reservation seating system
  • Maintain professional and warm guest communications both inside the restaurant or via phone and email
