Job Description

Acts Retirement-Life Communities is a prominent not-for-profit organization that stands as one of the largest owners, operators, and developers of resort-style continuing care senior living communities across the United States. With a network of 28 exceptional communities spread over 9 states, Acts Retirement-Life Communities serves over 8,500 dedicated team members who collectively strive to enrich the lives of their residents. Their focus is on providing a comprehensive range of living options including independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing care, designed to meet the evolving needs of seniors. Each community is thoughtfully designed as a vibrant campus offering numerous conveniences, services, and amenities such as casual and fine dining venues, beauty salons, fitness centers, security systems, comprehensive healthcare services, engaging activity programs, and much more. The culture at Acts is deeply rooted in Loving-Kindness, a guiding principle that fosters a supportive and inclusive environment where diversity is celebrated and every team member’s unique background and talents are highly valued.

The company is currently seeking enthusiastic and compassionate individuals to join their team as Hosts or Hostesses. This role is integral to creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere for residents and guests at the dining venues within the community. The Host or Hostess will play a pivotal role in ensuring that every dining experience starts on a positive note by efficiently seating guests, providing menus, and addressing any initial inquiries with friendly professionalism. In addition to greeting guests, the position involves managing reservations and walk-in seating arrangements using state-of-the-art reservation software. The individual will also handle phone calls, coordinate call-ahead seating, and process meal charges or credits through the point-of-sale (POS) system, ensuring smooth transactional flow and accurate record-keeping. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop customer service skills within the hospitality industry while contributing meaningfully to the wellbeing of senior residents.

Acts values team members’ professional growth and personal development. Employees have access to a wide array of benefits including next day pay through the PayActiv feature, robust tuition reimbursement programs to support further education, commuter benefits to ease daily travel, scholarship awards, and numerous professional development programs in partnership with universities. The company also offers referral and discount programs, appreciation events, and wellness initiatives to foster a healthy and motivated workforce. The organization’s comprehensive benefits package encompasses medical, prescription, dental and vision coverage, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, disability programs, a 401(k) plan with a 4 percent company match after one year of employment, paid time off, and holidays. Acts is committed to providing an inclusive workspace offering reasonable accommodations during the hiring process, underlining their dedication to diversity and equal opportunity. The hourly wage for this role ranges from $14.45 to $16.98, with the starting rate determined by skills and experience. This employment opportunity aligns with Florida’s Care Provider Background Screening requirements, ensuring the safety and integrity of care provided within their communities. Potential candidates are encouraged to apply online and join the Talent Network to receive timely updates on exciting job opportunities at Acts Retirement-Life Communities.
