The restaurant is currently seeking a full-time Host to become the essential first point of contact for its guests. As a Host at Tierra Sur, you will play a vital role in shaping exceptional guest experiences through warm and professional hospitality. This position requires an individual who is passionate about the art of presentation and exceptional customer service. You will greet guests with genuine warmth and eye contact, escort them to their assigned table or waiting area, manage reservation entries, and communicate effectively with the service team to ensure smooth transitions. Your responsibilities will include presenting menus, announcing servers’ names, offering seating choices based on party size and server availability, and informing guests about current promotions. Additionally, you will engage regularly with guests throughout their visit to ensure satisfaction with both the food and service, maintain coordination via a daily logbook, and keep the host station neat and organized.

This role offers an hourly wage ranging between $18 and $20, with the exact compensation determined by educational background and experience. The working schedule includes Sundays from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM and Monday through Thursday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Job Duties

  • Greet incoming and departing guests warmly with a genuine smile and eye contact
  • escort them to assigned dining area
  • present menus
  • announce waiters name
  • offer choice of seating based on guests' party size and server's availability
  • inform guest of current promotions and who will be serving them to ensure a smooth handoff to the service staff
  • engage with guests to ensure they're happy with food and service
  • read, maintain and make daily entries in the logbook to coordinate communication between shifts and management
  • maintain proper set-up of the dining room
  • remain knowledgeable of the menu
  • receive records and make any necessary arrangements for reservations and special functions in the restaurant
  • keep host station neat and organized
  • perform any other job related duties as assigned
