The role available is for a Front of House team member who will be instrumental in shaping each guest's experience from the moment they enter the brewery. This position is full-time with competitive hourly wages commensurate with experience, and includes benefits such as a 401k program with employer matching for full-time employees and employer contributions to health insurance. Additional perks include sick leave and a 20% discount on all Red Bear items.

The successful candidate will serve as the face of the brewery, greeting guests warmly, managing the central kitchen host station where all food orders and to-go orders are handled, and ensuring guests have a seamless and enjoyable visit. Responsibilities include selling merchandise and beer cans, checking IDs when necessary, answering phone calls, and assisting with customer inquiries or complaints. A unique aspect of this role involves recommending and managing the checkout of board games from the brewery’s extensive collection, adding an element of fun and engagement to the guest experience.

This position requires multitasking in a fast-paced environment and working well independently as well as collaboratively with bartenders, the taproom manager, and other staff members. The candidate will also be involved in social media content creation to help promote events and specials, further connecting the brewery with its community. Physical tasks such as bussing and cleaning tables, restocking, setup, and breakdown of service areas including the taproom, restrooms, and patio are also part of the job duties. Adherence to all safety and health regulations is mandatory.

A positive, friendly attitude and the ability to stand and work in noisy, active environments for extended periods are essential. Additionally, the ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs, work outside, and a commitment to learning basic American Sign Language (ASL) are required to better serve the diverse customer base. Flexibility in schedule with availability on nights and weekends and comfort with digital scheduling and team communication platforms are necessary.

Job Duties

  • Be gracious, friendly, patient and have a helpful attitude towards guests as the first person they see
  • run the central kitchen host station where all patrons will check-in if they have food orders and receive a pager
  • handle to-go orders
  • sell merchandise and beer cans from the to-go station
  • ID guests when needed
  • answer the phone, taking any messages as needed
  • recommend and check out board games from the library of games to guests
  • assist with customers inquiries or complaints when asked
  • have a strong knowledge of all products sold
  • create material for social media posts
  • support the bartenders, taproom manager and other staff as needed
  • bus and clean tables when appropriate
  • help with restocking, cleaning, setup and/or breakdown of the taproom, restrooms, patio, and all other service areas as needed
  • follow all safety and health regulations
  • be a brand ambassador and potentially represent Red Bear at festivals and local events
  • any other assigned tasks as assigned by management
