Job Duties

  • Greet and welcome customers immediately upon arrival and verify number in their party
  • Determine special needs such as high chairs or special menus
  • Collect payment from customers promptly following cash handling procedures
  • Inquire about customer food and service satisfaction
  • Handle customer complaints and suggestions appropriately
  • Seat customers at suitable tables or booths considering their needs and restaurant requirements
  • Introduce features of the day to customers
  • Keep hostess area stocked and clean including to-go items and bakery products
  • Handle incoming telephone calls and take to-go orders
  • Maintain proper supply of clean menus
  • Periodically suggest initial beverages and provide beverage orders and refills
  • Assist service personnel in clearing and setting tables
  • Resolve complaints and notify manager of any received
  • Assist other service personnel as needed
