Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in customer service preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Basic cash handling skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Greet guests in a warm, friendly, smiling manner
  • Suggest new menu items from limited time offerings
  • Receive payment and make correct change
  • Assist with beverages like bold, signature or flavored coffees
  • Clean, complete side work, and organize supplies as needed
  • Assist other team members without being asked
  • Provide total guest satisfaction
  • Greet and welcome all customers immediately upon arrival and verify number in their party
  • Determine special needs such as high chairs or special menus
  • Collect payment from customers in accordance with cash handling procedures
  • Inquire about food and service satisfaction and handle customer complaints or suggestions appropriately
  • Seat customers at tables or booths appropriate for their needs and those of the restaurant
  • Introduce feature of the day
  • Keep hostess area stocked and clean including to-go items and bakery products
  • Handle incoming telephone calls and take to-go orders as appropriate
  • Maintain proper supply of clean menus
  • Periodically supply customers with initial beverage suggestions and provide beverage orders and refills
  • Assist service personnel in clearing and setting tables
  • Resolve complaints and notify the manager of any complaints received
  • Assist other service personnel as needed
