Currently, The Old Spaghetti Factory is seeking an enthusiastic Host/Hostess to join their vibrant team. This role is pivotal as the Host/Hostess serves as the first point of contact for guests entering the restaurant, making it the face of hospitality and setting the tone for the entire dining experience. The position requires an individual who is friendly, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. While previous restaurant or customer service experience is beneficial, it is not mandatory, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start or grow their career in the restaurant industry.

As a Host/Hostess, you will be responsible for greeting guests warmly, managing reservations and waitlists, efficiently assigning tables to ensure a smooth flow of the dining room, and maintaining a clean and inviting front-of-house area. You will assist guests with seating arrangements, accommodate special requests when possible, and provide knowledge about menu items and daily specials to enhance the guest experience. The job also includes collaboration with other front-of-house staff including servers and bussers, helping maintain the overall cleanliness and organization of the restaurant.

The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, the ability to multitask, and the capacity to remain calm under pressure all while maintaining a positive and welcoming demeanor. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential, as is the physical stamina to stand and move throughout the shift, occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds. Job Duties

  • Greet and welcome guests with a genuine smile and positive attitude
  • manage guest flow, take reservations, manage wait list, assign tables, ensure fair and efficient seating
  • maintain a clean and organized front-of-house and waiting area
  • assist in clearing dishes and cleaning tables
  • escort guests to their assigned tables, present menus, and assist with seating arrangements
  • engage with guests, anticipate needs, and respond promptly to inquiries or concerns
  • obtain knowledge of daily specials, menu items and restaurant promotions
  • maintain a professional, polished appearance adhering to company standards
