Razzoo's is a lively and popular restaurant known for its vibrant Cajun and Creole cuisine. We are currently seeking a dedicated and personable Host to join our front-of-house team. This role is vital in setting the tone for the guest experience by warmly greeting guests, managing efficient seating arrangements, and maintaining smooth communication with both guests and staff. The position offers competitive pay ranging from $5.50 to $10 per hour plus tips with daily tip payouts. The Host will be the first point of contact for guests entering Razzoo's, tasked with delivering friendly and courteous service that embodies true hospitality. Responsibilities include managing table seating, overseeing reservation and call-ahead policies, answering phones, taking to-go orders, and assisting guests with special needs including small children. The Host also ensures that the entrance and waiting areas are clean, organized, and welcoming, contributes to maintaining common areas such as restrooms, and supports service staff by refilling beverages and clearing tables. This role demands attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask efficiently in a busy setting.
Physical demands include standing and walking for the duration of the shift, the ability to bend, stoop, and carry items up to 20 pounds, hearing accuracy amidst loud background noise, near vision with correction, and manual dexterity. The Host must also adhere to all health and safety guidelines and Razzoo's policies, maintaining a safe environment for both guests and coworkers. Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior experience in a hospitality or customer service role is advantageous
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a busy environment
- good physical stamina and manual dexterity
- basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- ability to handle phone systems and to-go orders

Job Duties
- Deliver hospitality to every guest
- greet guests in warm, friendly and courteous manner
- open door for guests as they enter and exit the restaurant
- manage and promote the specific call-ahead/reservation policies of the restaurant
- make guests comfortable while waiting
- manage wait list quoting accurate wait times
- select appropriate station and table or booth
- take guests to selected table/booth
- provide menu to guests
- describe menu items if requested by guest
- suggest menu items if appropriate
- answer telephones and follow phone procedures
- take phone to-go orders and deliver to bartender
- defer all guest questions regarding allergies to the manager on duty
- assist guests in seating of small children or special needs guests
- acknowledge guests who are leaving and invite them to return
- keep entrance area clean and stocked
- be observant of landscape and pick up trash as necessary
- check restrooms periodically
- wipe counters, clean windows and pick up trash as necessary
- provide children with a balloon, children’s menu and crayons
- assist service staff by refilling beverages, clearing plates, and helping to maintain tables and serve guests
- wash and sanitize hands after removing trash, eating and drinking, using the bathroom, touching own face or hair, or handling food prep
- alert appropriate personnel to immediately empty trash cans after broken glass has been disposed in them
- maintain a clean and safe environment reporting any unsafe procedures or conditions to anyone in management
- participate in executing birthday celebrations
- comply with all applicable federal, state and local statutes as well as Razzoo’s policies and procedures
- perform additional responsibilities as requested by a manager at any time
