The position available is for a Front Desk and Host role, which serves as the first impression guests have when visiting Dave & Buster's. This role is critical in ensuring that every visitor feels welcomed and valued from the moment they enter. The Front Desk and Host team members are responsible for greeting guests with enthusiasm and a positive attitude, managing game rentals, merchandise sales, and providing telephone support. They act as ambassadors for the establishment, guiding guests through their entire experience, which includes dining, gaming, and shopping. This position requires excellent communication skills, interpersonal abilities, and a friendly demeanor to create an inviting and fun atmosphere. Hosts also handle seating arrangements fairly and efficiently to maintain a smooth flow of traffic throughout the dining area. They ensure that the front desk and host station is organized, clean, and well-stocked with menus, silverware, power cards, and gift cards, maintaining the overall standard of appearance and operations. Furthermore, the role involves managing wait times and assisting guests promptly while coordinating with other team members and managers to ensure maximum satisfaction and operational efficiency.
The Front Desk and Host also play a vital role in maintaining merchandise inventory, handling cash reconciliation, and processing guest transactions accurately and efficiently. They must be able to remain calm and composed when responding to dissatisfied guests, escalating concerns as necessary to managers. While previous restaurant, retail, or cashier experience is preferred, it is not required; however, the ability to communicate clearly and enthusiastically in English is essential. Candidates must be at least 16 years of age and committed to following dress code guidelines, presenting themselves neatly and professionally at all times. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Ability to work days, nights, and/or weekends as required
- Ability to work in noisy, fast-paced environment with distracting conditions
- Ability to read and write handwritten notes
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
- Ability to move about facility and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to walk or stand 100% of shift
- Ability to reach, bend, and stoop frequently
- Must be dressed neatly and professionally according to dress guidelines
- Must demonstrate ability to read and communicate in English
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous restaurant, retail, or cashier experience preferred but not required
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to interact positively with guests and team members

Job Duties
- Deliver an unparalleled guest experience through the best combination of food, drinks and games in an ideal environment for celebrating all out fun
- Act as ambassador to the building, greeting guests with a positive attitude and enthusiasm while coordinating game rentals, merchandise sales, and telephones
- Keep immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and take prompt corrective action where necessary or suggest alternative courses of action
- Bid farewell to guests leaving, ensuring everything was satisfactory and invite guests to return
- Prepare for the shift by ensuring area is stocked with supplies such as menus, silverware, power cards, gift cards etc
- Review the cleanliness and organization of the front desk and host station
- Ensure all menus are stocked and properly cleaned and maintained
- Check for restocking of necessary supplies
- Bring all areas up to standard
- Discuss problem areas with manager
- Conduct merchandise inventory during and after shift, if applicable
- Maintain a favorable working relationship with all other company team members to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate that will be conducive to maximum team member morale, productivity and efficiency
- Notify manager of any guest that is perceived to be unhappy
- Assist other team members as needed or as business dictates
- Drive table turn timing by scouting open tables, bussing and cleaning tables as necessary
- Rotate seating appropriately following guidelines to ensure fairness and balance in the dining areas
- Manage flow from the front doors, efficiently helping guests with needs and directing as needed
- Manage wait times and communicate information as needed to guests, team members, and managers
- Deliver silverware as guests are seated
- Make timely and accurate calculations of bill transactions
- Greet and assist guests efficiently and with a smile while processing transactions
- Be responsible for the reconciliation of any monies from their banks
- Complete to go order transactions for guests and ensure accuracy
- Sell merchandise from the front desk, if applicable
- Be friendly and able to smile frequently
- Communicate effectively with multiple guests while generating enthusiasm for Dave & Buster's
- Be dressed in accordance with dress guidelines, looking neat, clean, and professional at all times
- Read and communicate in English
- Articulate clear greetings, requests for assistance, and farewells to guests
- Respond calmly to dissatisfied guests and call issues to manager's attention
