Job Description
Dividend Restaurant Group (DRG) is a prominent hospitality company headquartered in Denver, Colorado, renowned for its commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences through a guest-first and team-focused approach. Founded on the principles of strong character within its team, adaptable systems, and disciplined operations, DRG has earned a reputation for revitalizing iconic restaurant brands and delivering significant value to all stakeholders including guests, team members, vendors, and financial partners. With a diverse portfolio of well-known brands, DRG emphasizes growth and excellence, leveraging an industry-leading platform to expand its presence and impact in the restaurant industry. Eddie Merlot's, a distinguished fine dining restaurant brand under the DRG umbrella, upholds these values by providing superior hospitality and memorable experiences to its guests.
The role of Host at Eddie Merlot's is a vital frontline position that embodies the spirit of outstanding guest service. Serving as the initial point of contact for guests, the Host is responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere, efficiently managing guest flow, and supporting seamless operations at the restaurant's front of house. This non-exempt, part-time position requires the Host to greet guests warmly either in person or by phone, manage reservations, seat guests appropriately, and maintain a clean and orderly hostess station. Additionally, Hosts collaborate closely with Valets, Servers, and other team members to ensure guests receive attentive and personalized service throughout their visit.
The Host position demands professionalism, effective communication skills, and the ability to remain composed under pressure. Responsibilities include collaborating with management to plan seating for peak times and special events, assisting with coat check services, handling phone reservations in a courteous manner, and maintaining accurate waitlists. Hosts also participate in the upkeep of the dining environment by resetting tables and conducting routine maintenance duties. They are expected to uphold Eddie Merlot's policies regarding food safety, alcohol service, and sanitation standards at all times. Given the dynamic nature of the hospitality industry, the Host role requires flexibility in scheduling, including working evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasionally during banquets or special events.
This position offers the opportunity to work within a passionate team at a well-respected upscale restaurant known for its commitment to quality and guest satisfaction. Employees are valued members of a culture that rewards dedication and teamwork. Equality and inclusivity are foundational at DRG, with proactive employment policies ensuring a diverse and supportive workplace. Hosts at Eddie Merlot's play an essential role in shaping the first impression guests have of the brand, making this position crucial for the restaurant's continued success and popular reputation in the dining community.
