The Clubhouse Host(ess) plays a crucial front-of-house role as the first point of contact for Members and guests within the club's dining facilities. Reporting directly to Food & Beverage management, this role is essential in setting the tone for the dining experience by greeting guests warmly and seating them efficiently. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the club’s layout, dining rooms, table assignments, and daily events to guide guests appropriately. A successful Clubhouse Host(ess) must possess an intimate knowledge of server stations, staff assignments, and workflow dynamics to assist in smooth service delivery. The ability to communicate effectively with service staff and assist with guest seating and related tasks is fundamental.
Communication skills and interpersonal finesse are vital, as this position demands engaging guests with a personable and welcoming demeanor, including addressing members respectfully by their last names. The Host(ess) should be adept at managing seating arrangements, assisting guests with coats and belongings, and ensuring guests are made comfortable with prompt and courteous service. This role also requires the capacity to assist with general dining room upkeep and coordination with other staff members. Familiarity with POS systems, such as Jonas, is beneficial for operational efficiency.

This position entails physical activity, including standing for extended periods and moving throughout the club environment, which may involve climbing stairs and other physical demands. Job Requirements
- Must be able to comply with county health regulations regarding Hepatitis A vaccinations
- Ability to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, twist or reach
- Ability to perform continuous repetitive motions
- Willingness to work in hot, humid and noisy environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in hospitality or customer service preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of POS systems is a plus
- Ability to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Basic understanding of club operations and event schedules
Job Duties
- Greets members and guest with a warm and welcoming demeanor
- Has intimate knowledge of all dining rooms, table numbers, seat numbers and daily events
- Understands the server stations, their daily assignments, their personal timing patterns and their maximum workload capacity
- Greets each guest promptly and courteously, with eye contact, a smile and good posture, using their last name whenever possible
- Offer to check a member or guests' coat/umbrella/hat or other cumbersome belongings
- Guides members and guests to their reserved table pre-set for the correct number in their party
- Helps members and guests that need assistance into their seats, holding chairs as often as possible
- Promptly seats and/or communicates with members without reservations or those waiting for others to join them
- Informs service staff when tables have been seated in their section
- Assists service staff, when time permits, with ensuring tables have water and are cleared of any dirty glasses, dishes or debris
- Knowledgeable of daily club operations, including events and operating hours
- Thanks members and guests
- invites them to return
- Attends staff meetings including pre-shift (line-up) sessions and training as required
- Basic knowledge of Jonas POS system
- Completes other appropriate work assignments as requested by the manager on duty
- Ensures completed to-go orders received from Expo are delivered to the appropriate recipient
