Job Description
Community Options, Inc. is a well-established national non-profit organization committed to providing comprehensive services to individuals with disabilities across 12 states in the United States. Founded with the mission to empower and support people with developmental, physical, and intellectual disabilities, Community Options, Inc. offers a wide array of programs designed to promote independence and improve the quality of life for those they serve. The organization operates with a deep commitment to respect, dignity, and inclusion, ensuring that every individual is given the care and support they need in a safe and nurturing environment. As a recognized leader in the disability services sector, Community Options, Inc. is dedicated to creating opportunities that foster community inclusion, personal growth, and self-sufficiency for people with disabilities.
Community Options, Inc. is currently inviting compassionate individuals to become Foster Care / Host Home Providers. This role presents a meaningful opportunity to positively influence the life of someone with developmental and/or physical disabilities by opening your home and providing a supportive living environment. As a Host Home Provider, you will be responsible for offering a safe, comfortable, and caring home where the individual can thrive. This includes meeting their basic physical and emotional needs, ensuring their daily well-being, and helping them to live a high-quality life with dignity and respect. The role requires the ability to build a warm, genuine, and supportive relationship with the person you are housing and supporting. This not only enriches their day-to-day living experience but also fosters a sense of belonging and community.
The Host Home Provider is compensated through a per-diem reimbursement rate, in addition to receiving monthly room and board payments from the individual they support. Notably, the income from room and board is considered tax exempt. Community Options provides all necessary training for Host Home Providers to ensure they are well prepared to meet the diverse needs of individuals with disabilities. Successful completion of these trainings is essential prior to beginning this fulfilling role. This position is ideal for individuals with a high school diploma or GED who are looking to make a tangible difference in someone’s life through meaningful, hands-on support. Community Options, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer, welcoming applications from all qualified candidates regardless of gender, race, disability, or veteran status. The role offers rewarding work that not only benefits the individual being supported but also brings personal satisfaction and community contribution to the Host Home Provider.
