Job Description
Metro Diner is a well-established family-owned restaurant concept founded in 1992 in Jacksonville, Florida. As one of the fastest-growing locally owned and operated family dining chains in the nation, Metro Diner proudly operates over 60 locations east of the Mississippi River. Known for its warm and friendly atmosphere, this restaurant offers large portion sizes and serves classic diner food that has earned national accolades and media recognition, including features on Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, as well as Cooking Channel's Cheap Eats.
Metro Diner fosters a culture of treating both guests and employees like family. This nurturing environment promotes a strong sense of belonging, significance, and pride amongst all team members. Employees at Metro Diner experience the benefit of flexible scheduling accommodating breakfast, lunch, and dinner hours. This setup enables a better work-life balance, avoiding late-night shifts while still providing competitive benefits such as paid vacation eligibility for hourly workers. The company is committed to offering both full-time and part-time positions suited to a variety of schedules.
The current openings at Metro Diner are for Host and Busser roles with day (AM) and night (PM) shifts available. These front-of-house positions are vital as the first point of contact with guests and play an essential role in delivering an exceptional dining experience. Hosts are expected to manage guest seating, greeting, and reception duties with professionalism and a customer-focused approach, ensuring guests feel welcomed and important throughout their visit. These roles demand multitasking capabilities to handle reservations, periods of high volume, and coordination with other team members, all while maintaining a positive and friendly demeanor.
Metro Diner is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer, emphasizing growth opportunities for all team members within the full-service casual dining restaurant industry. This makes it an excellent place for individuals seeking to build a career in hospitality and restaurant management. The advertised pay represents an expected take-home wage based on current averages, including tip credits and tips, and is not a guarantee but reflects a competitive compensation package.
Joining Metro Diner means becoming part of a family-oriented company where taking care of employees results in employees taking great care of the diners. The company values hospitality standards and invites friendly, service-oriented individuals to apply for these immediate opportunities. The positions promote skill development in customer service, communication, reservation management, and front-of-house operations, supporting career advancement in the restaurant sector.
