The role offered is for a restaurant host, a critical position that serves as the first point of contact for guests. The ideal candidate is personable, organized, and energetic, with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction. This position offers competitive hourly wages plus excellent tips on high-traffic days such as Fridays and Saturdays. As a host, you will be responsible for warmly greeting guests, managing seating arrangements, and ensuring smooth communication between the front of house and waitstaff. Organization and keen attention to detail are essential as this role involves maintaining the cleanliness and order of the dining area, including bussing tables, rolling silverware, and tidying bathrooms. In addition, this role requires strong communication skills, both for interacting directly with guests and coordinating with the restaurant team, including answering phones for to-go orders and managing reservations. Experience with reservation management systems is preferred but not required, and basic knowledge of food and beverage offerings would be advantageous. Flexibility in scheduling is important due to varying shift lengths and times, including morning, day, evening, and night shifts. Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in the hospitality industry
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience as a host or in a similar role within a restaurant setting
- Familiarity with reservation management systems
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage offerings
Job Duties
- Greet guests warmly and escort them to a table or the bar
- Communicate with the waitstaff and bar about new tables and guests
- Maintaining cleanliness of the dining room by bussing tables, running glassware through dishwasher, sweeping floors, rolling silverware, tidying bathrooms, etc
- Observing and predicting the needs of guests and coworkers
- Answering phone for to-go orders and answering customer questions
