Job Description

Wegmans Food Markets is a renowned grocery store chain celebrated for its commitment to outstanding customer service, fresh and high-quality ingredients, and a diverse range of inspired dishes. With a strong focus on putting people first, Wegmans has built a reputation as a mission-driven, values-based company that prioritizes the well-being and growth of its employees. This commitment is reflected in its exceptional workplace culture, competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and numerous opportunities for personal and professional development. As a result, Wegmans has been consistently ranked among the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For® since the list's inception in 1998, further demonstrating its dedication to creating a positive and rewarding work environment for all team members.

The role of a Host at Wegmans specialty restaurants offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and lively team dedicated to providing incredible service and memorable dining experiences. Hosts play a vital role in ensuring guests’ visits begin with warmth and professionalism, greeting guests and escorting them to their tables with genuine hospitality. They are responsible for managing reservation schedules, efficiently planning table assignments, and maintaining a positive atmosphere during wait times, all contributing to the overall satisfaction of each customer. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and genuinely enjoy interacting with people, as it involves multitasking and collaborating with other team members to maintain smooth restaurant operations.

Working as a Host at Wegmans not only allows employees to be part of a supportive team culture but also offers a flexible schedule, making it suitable for those seeking part-time or full-time employment. The company values customer service experience and prefers candidates with familiarity in restaurant point of sale systems such as Micros or OpenTable, though prior experience is not mandatory. In return, Wegmans provides an impressive benefits package that includes paid time off (PTO) to promote work-life balance, higher premium pay rates for overtime, Sunday, and holiday shifts, as well as health care benefits with high coverage at low costs. Additionally, employees can benefit from a retirement plan with a 401(k) match, a generous scholarship program to support their educational aspirations, and access to the LiveWell Employee & Family program which promotes emotional, work-life, and financial wellness.

Joining Wegmans means becoming part of a community that believes in investing in its people. Employees receive comprehensive training, mentorship, and career growth opportunities that empower them to succeed and contribute meaningfully to the company's mission of helping people live healthier, better lives through exceptional food. The Host position is just one of many roles within Wegmans' specialty restaurant teams, which span front-of-house to culinary positions, each contributing to the unique dining experience Wegmans is proud to offer. Whether beginning a career or seeking to advance within the food service industry, employees find a welcoming and inclusive environment to grow their skills and pursue their passions within Wegmans.
